What they mean together
These are two beginnings from the same suit. The Ace of Cups is emotion welling up, and the Page of Cups is the one looking at it in wonder, like the young figure who finds a fish in his cup. Together they talk about news that warms the heart, something small and new that needs looking after. That's why it's one of the classic pairs for questions about pregnancy, though it can also be a creative project or a very tender love.
In love
A sweet message, a love that begins shyly or news that brings you closer. If you're single, someone gentle may surprise you.
Career and money
A creative idea that starts with a lot of enthusiasm, or a first commission in something artistic. It's still small, so give it time.
An example
Say your sister has told you she has something to tell you on Sunday, in person, and you draw the Ace of Cups and the Page of Cups. It's hard to see bad news here. The Page brings a message and the Ace says it's full of good feeling. It could be a pregnancy, a new love or a change that makes her happy. Go into Sunday ready to celebrate, not to worry.
By position in the spread
In the past
You got news that moved you and changed something inside. It may have been the start of a more sensitive or creative stage of your life.
In the present
Something tender is being born, even if it's still fragile. It could be a relationship, an idea or news that hasn't been shared yet.
In the future
A message or a surprise is coming that will make you happy. Pay attention to the small things, because that's where it will show up.
If they come up reversed
With the Ace of Cups reversed, the news comes but catches you feeling low, and it's hard to enjoy it. If the Page of Cups is the reversed card, the message is delayed or you take it more personally than you should. Both reversed point to hopes that haven't taken shape yet and ask for patience.
Answer that message with the same warmth it was sent with.
