What they mean together
The Ace of Wands is an idea or a desire that has just caught fire, and the Eight of Wands sends eight staffs flying through the air with nothing to stop them. Together they say that whatever is starting won't sit still. It'll move fast, with messages, replies and decisions in a matter of days. The Eight multiplies the Ace's speed. If you've been waiting a long time to get going, get ready, because this could move faster than you imagine.
In love
Love at first sight, texting from day one and wanting to see each other as soon as possible. If you're in a relationship, a new spark brings things back to life, maybe with a spur-of-the-moment getaway.
Career and money
An offer that comes in and closes within days, or a project that takes off ahead of schedule. Keep your phone close and reply quickly.
An example
You sent your résumé to a small company on Monday and want to know if they'll call. The Ace and the Eight of Wands come up, and the answer is yes, and soon. The Ace speaks of a new opportunity that excites you, and the Eight of a very fast process, with back-to-back interviews and maybe an answer the same week. Get ready now with what you want to say about yourself and update your LinkedIn profile. You won't have much breathing room between one call and the next.
By position in the spread
In the past
Something started suddenly and moved so fast you barely had time to think about it. What you're living today comes from that burst.
In the present
Things are speeding up and you have an opportunity in your hands that needs a quick answer. If you hesitate too long, it may pass you by.
In the future
News is on the way that will set something new in motion very quickly. Leave some room in your schedule so you can move when it comes.
If they come up reversed
With the Ace of Wands reversed, the idea doesn't quite get off the ground even though everything around you is moving fast. If the Eight is the reversed one, the beginning is there, but messages get delayed or rushing leads to mistakes. If both are reversed, slow down, because something that seemed urgent can lose steam as quickly as it appeared.
Answer that message today, not tomorrow.
